Bolt Fingerprint

The Auto Unlock, or proximity unlock feature, is too slow to recognize that you are nearing the lock. In order to allow the “auto unlock” to work, you basically need to stand at the lock and wait for almost a minute before it unlocks. This feature is useless; you can unlock with your numeric code or fingerprint well before the lock would notice you are there.

So far so good! Have been using the ultralok since the kickstarter original and it took 7 years before the og became problematic. I do love these locks though so I splurged and got another. Feature packed much easier without a dedicated bridge and a sleeker design. These are hands down the best smart l9cks for the money

I already own 3 of their older version of their wifi locks. I liked their new design and thought I would upgrade my locks because their wifi unit was built in to their locks and I wouldn't need to use a bridge anymore.

So, their FAQ says that they don't support a master key system, but if I wanted to key my locks to other C keyway locks, all I needed to do was bring the locks to my locksmith. Well, I ordered my 3 locks. I bring them to my locksmith and he tells me that they keyway may be a C key, BUT the locks are not standard Schlage C Keyway depths. WTF. My locksmith tells me that although he might be able to rekey it, there is a chance that because the depth of the keyway is a bit longer than a normal Schlage key, that most if not all locksmiths would have to make a hand adjustment to preparing a new key.

After what I found out at my locksmith, I tried to take my old keyway from my OLD ULOCKS and put them in the new one AND they changed the size of the keyway so that it's not a standard size!!!!!! So, I couldn't even just swap out my old keyways!!!!!!!

BE FOREWARDED, that if you need make a new key or you try to rekey this lock in the future, you might have problems. Not sure why they didn't just make everything standard!!!!!! Making everything a special size will create problems for their customers in the future.

I quickly returned all 3 locks.

I really wanted it to work, but I guess they lost a loyal customer because I want the option in the future to rekey the lock or make new keys!

Learn from my experience so you don't have to buy the locks and have to return the locks where they don't pay for return shipping.

Love the lock and the customer service

I love the new design. The fingerprint is a lot faster and accurate than the first Gen, but I found the first Gen is quicker to turn the lock. In general, I really love this product and I'll keep it for a long time like my first generation bolt lock.
